Hello and welcome,
I’m Marielis Conde Mendez, a Cuban-born visual artist whose work explores memory, identity, and cultural reflection. My practice began with painting and ceramics, layering color and texture to capture the essence of memory and place. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to exhibit my work at the Moudy Gallery and Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, spaces that have allowed me to share pieces that invite contemplation and dialogue.
Today, I’m thrilled to introduce Marielis Con Arte, my new online space where you can explore and collect my art. Through this platform, I’m making my work more accessible to art lovers and collectors everywhere — whether through original paintings, ceramics, fine art prints, or future collections. My goal is to create art that resonates personally, while also speaking to our shared human experience.

Cuban Tobacco Box (Cohiba)
To begin this journey, I want to share one of my favorite recent works: Cuban Tobacco Box (Cohiba).
This painting is inspired by everyday objects that hold cultural weight. For me, the tobacco box is more than packaging — it is a vessel of history and identity, carrying layers of memory that connect personal experience with collective tradition. Growing up Cuban, these boxes were always present, often tucked away as keepsakes or displayed as symbols of heritage.
In this piece, I use layered color and texture to reflect the passage of time and the emotions embedded in objects like these. It’s a dialogue between past and present — between what is remembered and what is carried forward.
